Madam Siow Homemade Hakka Pan Mee萧师奶板面

The shop is tucked in the slip road from town heading towards Jalan Limbok林木街 and you need to have your eyes peeled in order to spot it. And the banner below the signboard would be the first telltale sign that it is newly opened.

'So what’s the difference between the Hakka Mee Pan Mee from the usual ones?' I asked and Madam Siow’s son, Yap replied ‘Both the soup and the toppings are different’

The freshly made dough would be cooked the Hakka way whereby it is hand stretched into bite size strips and then dropped into the boiling soup.

'We are unlike others where the dough is put into the shredder to be grind into noodles as this would not be considered as the original Hakka Pan Mee ' Yap said.

The soup.
Yap would usually start the day by helping his mom prepare the ingredients and stock for the soup by following exactly how his maternal grandmother would prepare it back in those days.

And the soup from elsewhere would normally taste salty but theirs is sweeter because of the type of stock and ingredients that the Hakka people use.

The toppings.

The mince pork is being fried with shredded black fungus which is very different from other pan mee stalls.

Off the wok and straight into the pot.

Adding the final touch.
And Voila! A bowl of Madam Siow's Homemade Hakka Pan Mee. And it only comes in 1 standard size at RM5.50 per bowl and just add RM1.00 if you want an egg to go with it.

A must try their homemade chili which I find really hot & spicy and Hey! you have been warned.

The close bond between mother and son is well depicted in this picture.

Enjoying brisk business as many of their regulars are still in the dark with their new location as they were formerly at the 99 food court in Kepayang commerce square.

They were renting a stall there and decided to shift when Yap’s friend offered them a newly renovated shop in Jalan limbok.

‘A shop is always better than a stall as it is more relaxed and we get to enjoy the freedom of running the business of our own’ said Madam Siow.

Business hours from 3pm – 8pm open daily. Closed on Mondays.

The slip road from the old Police station Jalan Campbell will lead you straight to this shop and it is directly opposite the Limbok Food Court.

The reverse angle of the shop where the slip road would lead you to Jalan Limbok and Jalan Temiang.

And they start their business at 3pm,  a very good time because it is pretty hard to find food at this hour in Seremban town.

  1. "the slip road would lead you to Jalan Limbok" that Road itself is called Jalan Limbok Bawah in the olden days & renamed to Jalan Quek Kai Dong since many years ago.
