Ikan Bakar SABA grilled fish沙巴燒烤魚@S2 Uptown Avenue.

This grilled fish shop was formerly located in Kemayan square and they had just shifted to S2 Uptown Avenue barely a week and are already making waves due to their regular customers eagerly flocking to the new place.


Firstly you choose how you want your fish to be cooked either the Nyonya grill or the Ginger grill as both are their house specialty and the types of seafood available are stingray, Tilapia, prawns, cuttlefish, clams and etc.

The waiting time would be about 25 mins for the fish to be fully cooked and may be longer depending on the size.

And currently they are open daily from 5pm until 1am.

The interior of the shop is fully air-cond but some people would still prefer to enjoy the grilled fish in its natural environment and that means by sitting outside.

Firstly the fish is placed on a piece of banana leaf and then the chef would pour their signature Nyonya chili gravy or minced Ginger gravy and then wrapped it in aluminium foil before placing it on the grill.

Unwrapping and prodding the fish with a stick allows the chef to know the condition of the meat as the cooking time would be about 25 minutes.  

Adding a spoonful of cut Okra to enhance the taste. 

It was a worthwhile wait and with a squeeze of lime the Nyonya grilled fish is served!
