Remembering them on Chinese New Year.

This is my first time visiting an old folks home during Chinese New Year and it was really meaningful and fun filled.

The aim is to deliver the donated items and cheer up the old folks residing at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Amal Charis in Mantin 文丁恩典慈善福利机构

Organized by the members of Live In N9 家住森美兰Facebook group led by Angel Sin Yee with a group of volunteers.

Together with a group of children entertainers with their performances of song and dance for the elderly at Charis.

And the food is sponsored by Foot Heng Seremban food caterer福兴专业自由餐会

We assembled at meeting place around 10am on the 19th Feb, the 4th day of CNY where Angel gave a briefing to all participants of the do's and don'ts.

A pep talk to all the performers as they are the main star of the event, tasked to sing and dance for the elderly.
And once we reached the place everyone helped to carry the donated necessities into the shelter home.

The generosity of Angpow giving immediately started.

Followed by Live entertainment.

Thumbs Up!

While they are being entertained in the front, the volunteers were quickly preparing lunch at the back.

The caretakers knew exactly how much rice for each of the occupants.

Angel Sin Yee (3rd from the left) with her husband Thomas Goh (far left) making sure all the plates are hygienically covered.

Helen giving out Angpow and can you see she gave each of them 3 angpow.

That is so generous and it certainly made me wonder what's the reason behind the 3 Angpow.

This kid is a champion of a singing competition and everyone was mesmerized by his heart rendering performance.

Patrons being ushered to the dining tables for a lunch buffet.

And it is time to eat.
And while they were busy eating.
The caretakers made sure the angpow goes to the right person by writing down their names on the red packet.
Once the tummy is full it is time for more Angpow.

Hanging dearly to the red packet, a small token of kindness really goes a long way for them.

Kids taking a breather by playing at the mini pond "Looks there are many tadpoles over there" pointed out by this little girl.

The caretaker giving us a tour of the place.

Getting ready for a final group photo before we leave.

A million Thanks to the entertainers together with their parents. They are very talented and have won numerous singing competitions. Thank you again for cheering up the old folks.

Angel went around shaking hands with everyone before saying goodbye.

Gong Xi Fa Cai from all of us! And see you again next year.
